Player Evaluation & Selection

Players interested in joining the Return to Wildcats Program must attend the annual evaluation process held between mid-September and early October. These sessions are designed to assess each player's skill level, commitment, and readiness to participate in the Wildcats development pathway. Selection is based on the evaluation process and is intended to ensure players are placed in an environment that best supports their development.

Spring Team Eligibility

Participation in the Return to Wildcats Program is required for all players who wish to be considered for a Wildcats Spring Team. The program provides athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills throughout the fall and winter while allowing coaches to monitor player growth and readiness for spring competition.

Spring Development Opportunity

Players who participate but are not selected for a Spring Team continue to receive development opportunities through the Wildcats Spring Development Program, which includes:

  • Registration in the Wildcats Spring Break Camp
  • 10–15 Spring Skills Academy sessions
  • Continued instruction from Wildcats HC coaching staff & BW Hockey skills coaches
  • Focused development of skating, puck handling, shooting, battle & compete, and game situations & awareness
  • A structured pathway for future Spring Team consideration

Program Benefits

  • Professional coaching and player development
  • Ongoing player evaluation and feedback
  • Clear pathway to Wildcats Spring Team opportunities
  • Ice time and a development-focused environment that supports long-term growth
  • Continued spring training opportunities for all program participants
